Ayla + Evan live in Jerusalem with their dog Porter (yes, like the beer)

In 2011, Ayla and Evan Kline met in Philadelphia at a Shabbat lunch and realized they had a couple things in common: a love for craft beer and a favorite neighborhood bar, Ten Stone.  Their love brewed while they got to know each other over hoppy IPAs and delicious stouts.

Evan first developed an appreciation of good beer while studying abroad in Europe and sampling the continent’s finest.  Ayla found her taste for beer in the golden hills of California, home to many renowned breweries in the US.

Ayla and Evan made aliyah in 2013. They soon missed the easy access and wide selection of beer that Philadelphia had to offer. But they were excited to see that Israel is in the beginning of their own beer renaissance.  Over the past two years, they have been searching for a consolidated picture of Israeli microbreweries; where they’re located, who are their brewers, and how to find their beer.

As fans of good, local, beer, they have a vested interest in doing our part to support local brewers and help expand awareness of the innovative styles that exist here in Israel. So they decided to join the cause by creating a crowd-sourced beer map of all of the craft beer in Israel and by documenting their beer adventures around the country.

This website will be dedicated to the beer renaissance as it’s happening, highlighting delicious brews and the story of their brewers, discussing the issues of the craft beer scene and how you can help it progress, converting non-beer-believers into craft beer supporters and last, but certainly not least, we are putting Israel craft beers on the map, so anyone who wants to find a good beer can locate it.
